Phimosis describes a condition in which the foreskin is too tight to be pulled back over the head or glans of the penis. When the foreskin is still attached to the glans, phimosis is normal in uncircumcised babies and toddlers. Natural detachment occurs between 2 and 6 years of age, but may occur later. It can occur in boys as young as 10 years old.
